“New and emerging technologies provide not just new tools but also new possibilities for pedagogical approaches.” (ACARA, 2009)
This is where some of my students' class projects are posted. The slideshow below displays work students have already done using Sim-on-a-Stick, a stand alone virtual world on a USB stick. I also use MinecraftEdu. Both of these are powerful tools for engagement allowing for depth of learning, higher order thinking, problem solving and creativity. These spaces also provide me with the perfect setting for digital citizenship and embedding skills and fostering healthy discussions with young students about the conscious use of online technology. A great article by Anne Collier regarding digital citizenship and what it looks like as a 'lived curriculum' can be found here: Dr Bronwyn Stuckey - Lived Curriculum
Students are working on projects connected to Science and Technology, English, Maths, PDHPE [Personal Development. Health and Physical Education], HSIE [ Human Society and Its Environment] and CAPA [Creative and Performing Arts] Here are the website links to my various student projects incorporating ICT, digital and virtual world technology from Tyalla Public School, Coffs Harbour Public School, Crossmaglen Public School, Ulmarra Public School and South Grafton Public School. 2015 mrsboothsclass006.edublogs.org 2012 - 2014 Tyalla Enrichment Group Stage 3 Tyalla Yr 5/6 Hatchet Stage 3 Tyalla Kindergarten Minecraft Project ES1 Tyalla Kindergarten Class KSD ES1 Tyalla Smooth Moves Stage 2 Coffs Harbour Public School Blog Crossmaglen Public School Blog South Grafton Public School Blog 1/2DM Marvellous Minibeasts Weebly Ulmarra Public School Blog |
