3/4RO has been creating a virtual gallery linking to their science unit Beneath our Feet. They have been building display boards to upload images of weathering and erosion. They also have started building igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rock samples. Information cubes have been placed around the gallery to give the audience information about their displays. The students have only had three lessons using the virtual technology program and they are doing a fantastic job!
Today students explored erosion and its causes and impact on rocks. They watched a film on erosion by Bill Nye The Science Guy and then recreated a section of Cathedral Rock using Sim-on-a-Stick and identified the oldest and youngest mountain. They sketched the mountains in their science journals and provided information on the probable cause of weathering and erosion.
