What a busy lesson! Firstly the students spoke about different forms of bullying and what it could look like which then led them into a discussion about racism and what values they held personally. The students recognised that they are role models at their school and their behaviour in the playground, and how they deal with difficult situations, is very important. Younger students both hear and see what older students do and imitate this behaviour. Therefore, older students have a great responsibility to lead by example. They need to value themselves and realise they are an important member of their school community. After this wonderful discussion regarding values and attitudes the group worked together to select their individual islands. Ryan lead the group with Brodie allocating the islands and it was amazing to see all 19 of them work together harmoniously. Mrs Booth was loading the islands map into MinecraftEdu during this time. Once they were all in-world there was just time for a group shot before the students, armed with their map, began their search for their island. Once found Mrs Booth teleported over and placed a teleport block on each island which would allow all students to easily visit each other. this is very handy as the school computer graphics cards aren't the best and the world doesn't have great visibility. Again another brilliant lesson and if only we had another hour....
